The Malaysia My Second Home
(MM2H) program is open to citizens of all countries who are
not married to Malaysian citizens and those who are not
nationals of Israel and Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro).
Applicants are allowed to include their spouse and children
(children below 18 years old who are not married).
For your information –
Children’s Education
There are excellent
international schools and institutions of higher learning in
Malaysia for your children. A student’s pass is required
from the immigration authority.
Applications must be submitted
through an Agent licensed by the Government of Malaysia to
perform Malaysia My Second Home services. Visa Home (MM2H)
Sdn Bhd is licensed and can be your sponsor in your
application for the visa. The application will be
scrutinised by law enforcement and relevant authorities.
Successful applicants will be
given a conditional letter of approval where additional
requirements must be fulfilled (documented proof is
required). The letter is needed to perform the financial
requirements, then all documented proof of completion of all
requirements and conditions are submitted together with the
relevant forms to obtain the visa.
RESTRICTIONS
Participants under the
Malaysia My Second Home Program (MM2H) are STRICTLY not
allowed to work / be employed while staying in Malaysia. In
addition, they should not participate in activities that can
be considered as sensitive to the local people and a threat
to the security of the country.
Financial
Requirements
There are two categories, one
for applicants who are aged below 50 years old and the
second for those who are 50 years old and more. Please note
that the age of the older spouse will determine which
category.
Applicants below 50 years
old:
Open a RM300,000.00 fixed
deposit account with a local bank. This deposit is locked
in for one year. After one year, you may withdraw up to
RM240,000.00 for the purchase of your house, medical
expenses and children's education in Malaysia. Withdrawal is
subject to prior approval by the Ministry of Tourism.
A minimum fixed deposit of
RM60,000.00 must be locked in throughout your stay in
Malaysia under the Malaysia My Second Home program.
Applicants 50 years old and
more:
Choose to show proof of
monthly off-shore income of RM10,000.00 and more from a
Government Approved Pension Scheme.
- OR -
Open a RM150,000.00 fixed
deposit account with a local bank. This deposit is locked
in for one year.
After one year, you may
withdraw up to RM90,000.00 for the purchase of your house,
medical expenses and children's education in Malaysia.
Withdrawal is subject to prior approval by the Ministry of
Tourism.
A minimum fixed deposit of
RM60,000.00 must be locked in throughout your stay in
Malaysia under the Malaysia My Second Home program.
Medical Report and Medical
Insurance
Applicants of the Malaysia My
Second Home (MM2H) program and dependants (spouse and
children) must provide medical reports by a registered
medical doctor in Malaysia. They need to purchase a valid
medical insurance policy which is applicable in Malaysia.
Local insurance companies usually require a medical
examination to be conducted by a registered medical doctor
before offering cover. |
