Please read the Malaysia My
Second Home (MM2H) Terms and Conditions page if you have
not.
All applicants who wish to
apply to stay in Malaysia under Malaysia My Second Home
Program (MM2H) must submit the following documents through a
licensed agent:
1) Letter of Application
(Cover Letter) *read note 1
In your
letter, write :
- Your personal
data and indicate your intention to join the Malaysia My
Second Home
Program alone, or, to include your spouse and children, their data and
names as well.
- How you will
support your stay in Malaysia (financial capabilities).
Which financial criteria (refer to
the Financial Requirements section in the
Terms and Conditions page) you
wish to use; either
Fixed Deposit or if you are 50 years and
above, your monthly off-shore income.
2) Two copies of Form IM.12
(Social Visit Pass Form). Use a black ink ball-point pen to
write.
3) Two recent passport-sized
photographs (L=3.5cm H=5.0cm) of yourself and, if applicable,
repeat for
your spouse and each of your children.
4) Personal bond (who is your
sponsor – a licensed MM2H agent can be the sponsor)
5) A certified true copy *read
note 2 of Passport / travel document (all pages) of yourself
and, if
applicable, repeat for your spouse and for your
children who have their own travel
documents.
6) A certified true copy of a
Marriage Certificate (if accompanied by spouse)
7) Certified true copies of
birth certificates (if accompanied by children)
8) Your resume detailing 10
years of working experience
9) Certified true copies of
latest 3 months’ bank statements and other related financial
documents (pay
slip / pension slip / income statement etc) to indicate the
financial capability to
support stay in
Malaysia
* note 1 If you intend to
stay in Sabah address your letter to Department of
Immigration, Sabah.
If you intend to stay in
Sarawak address your letter to Department of Immigration,
Sarawak.
Otherwise address your letter
to Malaysia My Second Home Centre, Ministry of Tourism
Malaysia
* note 2 Certification by
Notary Public / Commissioner of Oaths / Consular and Foreign
Missions
Processing takes approximately
10 weeks from the date of submission of complete
documentation.
Additional Information
When successful, applicants
will be given a 10 year visa but subject to the validity of
the applicant’s passport. What this means is that your
passport will initially be stamped with a 4 year visa if
your present passport has a remaining valid period of 4
years. After your passport is renewed, you need to apply
for an extension, which is a simple procedure, to have the
visa for the remaining years stamped on the new passport.
The applicant must make the application personally at the
Immigration Department of Malaysia and with the following
documents :
1) Old and New Passport
2) Photocopy of the New
Passport
3) A completed IM.12 Form
Fees to be paid to the
Immigration Department of Malaysia is RM90.00 for each year
of visa given. So expect to pay RM360.00 for a 4 years visa
and then RM540.00 for the remaining 6 years visa. Other
visa fees may be payable for certain nationals.
